This book is a must have for any fan of the comic book Fables and it's spin-offs. This contains nearly every major character in the comics with wonderfully detailed origins and very colorful pages. Two notes I should point out though. If your looking for anything stories behind the Fairest spin-off, this book covers very little...almost nothing. Also, this book has some huge spoilers, so if your only reading the deluxe editions I strongly suggest you hold this off until you finish the Cubs in Toyland arch. However, if you want spoilers then go head an get this book. Your mundy mind will thank you.

This is even a better purchase than I thought it would be. I thought it would just be the history of the characters within the series, but it also tells where the character originated in the world of folklore and literature. Beautiful book, fantastic presentation, and a great addition to any Fables collection.

This is a must for the bookshelf or virtual bookshelf of any fables fan. Full of interesting information and beautiful art work taken from the comics, this could be subtitled: everything one wanted to know about the fables comic! Bravo!

This graphic novel was informative and gave insight into the "why's" of the creative team. New original artwork would have made it that much more enjoyable to read.

Highly recommend the entire series, great writing, beautiful art, fantastic stories.

This is a perfect companion to have with you while reading Fables comics. Its explains the backgrounds of every fairy tale character that makes an appearance as well as how the author twisted their character to fit into the comic book world. Includes some sneak peaks at great character developments too!

This is a beautifully illustrated, well written collection of background information about all the characters you know and love (or hate) in Bill Willingham's Fables worlds. It includes tidbits of real world mythology and legends as well as insight into the whys and wherefores of the Fable versions of classic characters such as the Big Bad Wolf and the North Wind. I am very glad to have added it to my admittedly obsessive Fables collection.

I really love this whole series. This encyclopedia made keeping track of characters simple.

The story had potential and with so many 5 star rating I was interested , what makes this a bad book in my opinion is that the main characters had zero chemistry, it had little to none romance at all , the interaction between them was only few sentences at a time in the course of almost the entire book (example around 60% into the book the only reason she liked him was based on how handsome he was , by 85% they shared their first kiss that turn out to be an awkward mess). The book does hold some action at the end that resembles of the hunger games . But if you like books with well developed characters and a good love story this is not it.

I liked this book. The story moves quickly and for the most part is free of over descriptions that tend to slow the story. The main character is likable. She does make some impulsive decisions that make you question her sense of self preservation, but her loyalty to those she loves is endearing. The male character is well written. He is conflicted and has made sacrifices, to the detriment of himself, based on convictions he has developed from hard experiences. The book leaves you just hoping they can figure each other out. It is hard for me to like the third member of the love triangle though, his recklessness makes me anxious as I read any scene in which he participates. I have enjoyed all of DS Murphy books. There are a few curse words, violence (it is a vampire book) and some steamy kissing.

Emily never expects to be Chosen, but its a great honor or so she's been told. Damien has been detached from the world around him until Emily crosses his path. The two are drawn into an intricate plot where everyone has an agenda.I raced through this book; its engrossing and a bit addictive. The plot reminded me a little of Hunger Games and Divergent with a sprinkle of the Selection and Vampire Academy. Yet, its also completely a new look at a dystopian world of scary creatures and bio-engineered vampires.I don't remember how I found this book or author, but I can't wait for book 2 in this series to come out. D.S. Murphy is definitely on my radar now.

From the moment I read the sample and then waiting for the full novel was so hard. Their was so much to pull you into the story and then hold you their. What will happen to Damien and Emily? Can't they learn to over come whatever is thrown and then and love each other. The books gets right away into the action and pulls you hard into the book. What will happen to Emily and if Damien father knows what she really is how will the challenge them or will they break under the weight. I cannot wait to read the other books and see where D.S. Murphy will be taking this series, eagerly awaiting the next book.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I was definitely intrigued when I read the opening, which if I remember correctly was in the AAYAA anthology, That Moment When. The full story didn't disappoint. It's a little darker than my normal reads, but had good action, romance, and intrigue. While the beginning is incredibly reminiscent of Hunger Games, the story takes a decidedly different turn.If you like vampire romances, this is a great new take on that relationship, set in a dystopian world that will keep you guessing until the end.

Story was good, kept my interest to the end. My only request would be better proofreading. There were too many duplicate words and confusing sentences. A few misspelled words too. I'll keep reading!

The story is familiar. You definitely see echoes of hunger games and the selection, but Murphy injected enough new material that it doesn't feel like a tired repeat. Good fast read. Kind of annoyed by the whiny, apathetic prodigy, tho.

I have been on the hunt for my next vampire thrill and this fit the bill. I must say that I enjoyed this book quite a bit although the altercation with Nigel seemed to fall to sidelines. I'm really hoping that we will see these two butt heads in the next book. The dynamic between Emily and Damien was interesting to read although I would like to see their relationship continue to grow.

Lilly continues to discover new things about herself and lineage, which are incredibly interesting. Justin has dissapeared and so the new leader of the Watchers is Robert, Lilly's worst nightmare. He is now is tasked with capturing Lilly so he can deliver her to the person who has been trying to kill her since she was little. In order to get to her, her loved ones get caught in the crossfire. You will also fall in love with Brand even more, he just keeps getting more perfect. I also started falling for Malcolm, i love his joking personality but at the same time he's so tender, sweet and incredibly thoughtful. Even though he is still waiting/hoping for his chance with Lilly he respects her decision, unlike Will who is just being childish.

I just read this book again, for about the seventh time, because I owe this great story a review.Blessed is the continuation of the story about Lilly Rayne Nightingale and her close friends. It speaks of destiny, freewill and love. Although this is a paranormal story, the characters feel real and lovable, and the story about fallen angels feels solid and plausible.I love the way West brings this book, and series, to life. This book is written to touch the heart, and make it race at times. The level of ‘action’ is increased and there is danger from more than one entity. There is an excitement to this story that ensnares me and propels me through the book.The story of Lilly and Brand is very romantic. Brand is such a thoughtful, loving character, so is Malcolm (in his own way). Lilly is always willing to sacrifice to save the one’s she loves. Tara is fabulous, funny and fearless. Will is protective and lovesick. Each of the other characters in her circle of friends adds a layer of depth to the story of The Watchers.I highly recommend this trilogy to older young adults, and anyone older than that.

SJ West has done it again.If you read Cursed, then you have to read Blessed - I mean, we still get Lilly and Brand and the whole gang from book one, but we now have even more help trying to figure out what Lucifer's plan is and how they are going to stop it.I don't know about you, but for me to read a book and feel as if I have been transported to a new place, a place where things aren't always what they seem and people aren't always what you thought they were....that to me is the best kind of book.I can't wait to continue this journey with Lilly, Brand, Ms. West, and the rest of the angels, fairies, demons, and everything in between.I feel as if every book will not only out do the previous one, but that what I expect to happen will be the very last thing I expect by the time I reach the last page. Can't wait for more

Blessed picks up where Cursed leaves off, and it keeps you interested until the end and wanting more when you finish. SJ West has created a world and characters that you want to spend time with, and revisit from time to time. You love them, get mad at them, worry about them, and cry with them. Brand is a little too perfect, so I keep questioning his motives. (I think that is just that in reality, no one is that perfect.) Tara is a wonderful character that brings the sass and that balances out how "good" Lilly is portrayed. I also love that I can recommend this to my child and I don't have to worry about the content.I have recommended this book to everyone I know.

West's Trilogy, I was immersed even further into her intricate world that she so eloquently weaved so perfectly. Just as the first book, I read until my eyes went blurry......I just couldn't put it down.Her storyline continued to amaze me with every bit of intrigue that her first book in this series did. She never skips a beat. I laughed out loud, cried so hard and stressed over the parts that had my heart and mind racing, as I awaited the outcome.... Absolutely brilliant is all I can say!!!I am downloading Book three as soon as I'm finished writing this review. I'm almost saddened at the fact that I'm about to read the final installment to the Trilogy Series.....A truly overwhelming, intellectually stimulating and action pack read!!! A definite 5 STAR read!!!

In the continuation of Lilly and Brand’s story, “Blessed” brings out many emotions and tugs on your heartstrings. It is a well written and enjoyable middle book of the series. For me sometimes the middle book of a trilogy can be a bit boring, kind of like a middle movie. Blessed wasn’t. It drew my attention from the beginning and had me biting my nails during the intense parts. Brand became even more swoon worthy and Malcolm so much more endearing. Lilly becomes stronger and more confident as she adjusts to all that happens in her life in a short period of time. There are more supporting characters introduced – some you’ll love, others will have your skin crawling. “Blessed” book two of The Watchers Trilogy by S. J. West is an excellent book and I highly recommend it. On to the last of this series and I can’t wait to see what happens.

Bought this book for my 2 year old daughter and she LOVES it!! I was slightly disappointed that, although it plays the entire "Let it Go" song, it is the instrumental version. But, they do provide you with the words to the song in the book. Very happy with the quality of the sounds, animation and book overall. My daughter is very happy!

My 3 year old niece loves the book and sounds.

I was hoping for the actual songs with words, which the kids love and want to sing along.It's a nice book, but the are no songs, only the music. I returned it.

Dont think the cost of this book was worth it. Only instrumental music. No singing.

Despite a lack of helpful updates over the last 4 years (only 22 of this book's 584 pages are new--the remainder is the same as the 2nd edition), and a slightly inflated cost (I bought it for $25), this book and the free GRE PowerPrep software from ETS (which is compatible with both Mac and PC, and contains 2 of the 4 GRE exams mentioned on the cover of the book) remain the very best sources of GRE practice questions.When studying for the GRE, one must remember that all non-official sources of GRE practice questions and tests are simply lesser imitations of the real thing. Although third-party strategy books and practice drills are often necessary to supplement your studies, nothing beats the Official Guide when it comes to realism, especially for verbal questions.The Official Guide to the GRE, 3rd Edition is barely revised from the 2nd edition. 4 out of the first 7 chapters are exactly the same, as are the 2 (paper) practice tests included in the book. Do not buy this book if you are trying to effectively review for the quantitative reasoning section of the test. I used this book to study for several months for the GRE, and I took three of the four practice tests and earned above average scores. I felt fairly confident about at least earning an average score on the math section. I thought that buying a book that is manufactured by the company who makes the test would ensure that I earn a good score (with focused studying of course).NOPE.Test day comes, the quantitative reasoning section is at the least 20x harder than any of the practice tests and review questions. My unofficial score is several points below average, despite studying furiously for several months and always earning above average scores. I felt so confused about what happened because I had worked so hard--this wasn't a case of pathetically studying. Later I talked to some other students in my research lab, come to find out ETS's practice materials are not good tools. Kaplan and Manhattan are apparently better, so I will be buying their practice guides to study for when I retake this exam.I don't write product reviews, but I hate the fact that I just wasted about $235 on this book and my original GRE and will have to shell out another $205 for my retake. I don't know if this is some scam so that ETS makes more money from people who have to retake the test after using their bogus practice guides, but I do know that just because it says they make the test does not mean that it is a good product. I wish I knew that ETS's books are bad. Do not waste your money on this book, because you will have to waste more money to retake the GRE.

The ETS's newly released GRE Guide is, staggeringly, almost identical to its second edition, which was a mere supplement to its first edition. In the last six years, nearly nothing has been changed, and in four years, absolutely nothing new has been added. There are parts of this book--notably, almost the entire mathematics review, and many of the Verbal and Quantitative sample questions--that have not changed in literally decades, going back to when the GRE was in a completely different format and had substantively different component parts. It is an absolute embarrassment that the ETS charges over $200 for the public to take its exams, generating literally millions of dollars in revenue, and yet the organization cannot be bothered to invest in the creation of a useful, worthwhile study guide.The ETS GRE Guide is a wonderfully useful text if you are interested in reading a book about how the ETS would like you to think about the GRE. It provides great insights into how the ETS considers its own test, but the book is not itself a great study guide. The best way to utilize it is as a supplement to a separate study plan. Do not bother taking the paper-based practice exams as practice tests: use the questions as problem sets. Read the answer explanations with a healthy amount of skepticism: you may be given the longest, most egregiously frustrating methods of solving. Do not, under any circumstances, think that everything in the math review is worth considering. You'll literally never need to know interquartile rankings, how to graph a circle, or how to calculate a standard deviation.Buy this book in conjunction with another text to study for the GRE. This is not a standalone guide under any circumstances.

I have read my fair share of nineteenth and twentieth century poetry. I love Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes, Edgar Allan Poe and Maya Angelou. But with that being said, for whatever reason, it’s just extremely rare that I ever read modern poetry by current authors. Maybe I just don’t want to take the risk. But I made an exception this time after seeing an extraordinary video of the author performing her poem “Explaining My Depression to My Mother.” I immediately came to Amazon to buy the book, and I even paid extra for same-day delivery. Somehow in my rush, I even managed to accidentally order two copies.I would say that the tone of the book is kind of like a day in the life of a twenty-something millennial. She laments lost loves, the unreliability of her father, and the would-be helpful codependence of her mother.I don’t know enough about the author to have any sense of how much of the book is autobiographical and how much of it is fiction, but it felt like there was a ring of personal truth in Benaim’s writing. I could personally relate to many of the themes in the book, especially those related to body issues and eating/weight, as well as anxiety issues. Benaim tackles other difficult topics such as the divorce of her parents and, of course, depression.One of the first things you might notice is the lack of capitalization and frequent lack of any punctuation whatever. I’m a bit of a grammar stickler, so I wasn’t sure how that was going to work for me, but soon enough I completely forgot about it.There were a few lines in particular that stood out to me as particularly shattering.From nature versus nurture:…when my father tells me i am beautiful,i always hope it’s because i remind him of my mother.From follow up a prayer / a spell:when i look in the mirror i see a reflectionof the gifts i withhold from myself.Final say: 5/5 stars, and I didn’t even have to think about it. I’m a fan. I’m sure I’ll come back to it many times. The content is good and the poetry itself is sharp. I really enjoyed living in her world for an hour or two, and I’ll buy her next book. And one final thing: I feel like I have to say kudos to whoever made that cover. It’s perfect.

Sabrina is just amazing. Between her and neil hillborn I've become a poetry addict and even started writing myself to help through my divorce.

I love this book. The poet has amazing dexterity with words and the fact that she uses that dexterity to talk about depression, loneliness, longing makes this a book so easy to relate to. Some of her metaphors are just so surprising, yet so right. Makes me wish I could write like her!

I've been battling my depression and anxiety a lot lately and also just mutually broke up with my boyfriend of 4 years. I bought this book that same day. It's not long, but it's so amazing. Really is like talking to a friend. There were a few poems that even brought me to tears. Sabrina is a fantastic poet and I cannot wait for more from her.

I came across Sabrina performing spoken word in a Facebook video, and I fell in love with her poetry. I was so excited to get this book and it did not disappoint. The words are so relatable and te images they create are magical. This is my favorite book I have read in quite some time.

This book is small but mighty! I personally can take something out of every poem and feel like this book was written for me (not to sound cheesy lol) I’ve read this book 3-4 times so far and the spine hasn’t broken and the corners of the pages are still in great shape. High quality material and amazing relatable content! This is a book that needs to be in everybody’s shelf. I plan on ordering a few more to give my sister and my best friend for Christmas

I love the passion of this book. I find myself highlighting sentences and drawing in the margins. I’m excited to pass this book along to my friends when I’m finished with it. To the author - thank you for your honesty and willingness to share.

So much love for this book and Sabrina Benaim. An amazingly talented writer. It feels like someone has gotten inside your head and put into words so many things you could not bear to say outloud.
