I truly enjoyed this book. It is a captivating, personal, and honest account of 13 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. No bull, just like you’d expect a Ranger to speak to you. I was amazed by the sheer number and rapidity of missions that Rangers performed and the speed with which they planned and executed critical missions on the battlefield. A very special book that recounts a long, proud military career from start to startling finish.
I truly loved this book. It was insightful as to what our soldiers do and go through to protect our country. RLTW
Great book. My son who is a quad really loved listening on his Kindle. When he was finished he said he wished that there was more. Would recommend this book to everyone.
Very well written. Fast paced as the Rangers themselves. Amazing what they accomplish night after night. Well trained and very slick in their operations, I would hate to face off against them! Absolutely admirable warriors!
For me this book is a first hand account of what our Rangers really do that no knows about. This book took me there as I was reading it and felt I could see this all unfolding as I read. It is a well written book through the eyes of Nicholas Moore as it was all unfolding. Very scary stuff! I am very proud of this Army Ranger for climbing the ladder at age 18 to the last day of his service with ALL that he has accomplished. This Ranger is my nephew. What an AWESOME adventure! I can’t even begin to say enough good stuff about this book! The book is truly deserving of all the accolades it has already received. Having served with Nick I can say without a doubt, he is the epitome of what a Ranger leader in the 75th Ranger Regiment should be! Well done, brother!
After reading so many rave reviews, I have to admit I was disappointed in this book not so much in the content but in the dry, monotonous writing style, which at least for me lacked the passion and dramatic build-up of similar books. Seems like so much of the verbiage was needlessly repetitive, and as much as I respect and admire the Rangers, their mantra "Rangers lead the way" was overused so much, there were instances when I thought I was reading the same pages twice. Was also a bit surprised of the many negative comments directed at Navy Seals and Marcus Luttrell as it was evident the author seems perhaps to resent the level of fame and adulation that Seals receive these days. On the other hand, I do appreciate his being willing to share his candid and unfiltered views here. Again, I have nothing but the utmost respect for the job and sacrifice made by the writer and his fellow hero Rangers on behalf of the country but was just less than captivated with the book itself.
This is a great book, this man is 1000% American awesomeness! Thanks to his parent for making a good dude! We need more like him. He has lots of interesting deployments and wish he could tell all his stories in more detail but I really like this one! Especially the frank truth about lone survivor and extortion 17 but there is so much more than that in this book. Thank you for your service!
